Meet the 'Official Outlaw’, Robin Hood, and let him to be your guide! This dynamic and exciting tour was developed to welcome international journalists to the City ahead of the 2010 Russell Crowe film.
Robin Hood is world famous but who was he? How did the legend begin? What does it mean today? These questions will be explored as you embark on a quest for the ‘hooded man’ and visit places associated with the legend. The truth is lost in the mists of time but there is a trail of historical truths to be followed and you can learn how simple ballads over 700 years old grew into one of the greatest stories ever told.
See the City’s key sites of interest, hear the stories and learn fascinating facts! Visit England’s oldest pub, Ye olde Trip to Jerusalem. Enter a subterranean world of ancient caves beneath the streets at the Salutation Inn. Understand why Nottingham Castle isn’t a castle. Marvel at the stunning architecture of the Lace Market, once the lace capital of the world. Stand on the steps of the Old County Gaol where people were hanged and find tranquillity in the graveyard of St Mary’s Church.
